Brocade Network configuration guidelines
This section provides guidelines for setting up a redundant, highly available
storage network configuration. The guidelines outlines compute access to
existing infrastructure, management network and Brocade storage
network for compute to EMC unified storage.
Administrators use the Management Network as a dedicated way to
access the management connections on the storage array, network
switches, and hosts. The Storage Network is communication between the
compute layer and the storage layer. The Brocade Storage Network
provides the communication between the compute layer and the storage
layer. Storage network guidelines are outlined for configuring block and
file with the VNX unified storage: File based storage network connectivity
with Jumbo Frames, Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), and VLAN
features; Block based storage network with 8 Gbps Fibre Channel
connectivity with zoning configuration guidelines. For detailed Brocade
storage network resource requirements, refer to Table 6.
