virtual machine environment.
The 500, 1,000, and 2,000 virtual desktop environments discussed are based
on a defined desktop workload. While not every virtual desktop has the
same requirements, this document contains methods and guidance to
adjust your system to be cost effective when deployed. A smaller 250
virtual desktop environment based on the VNXe3300 is described in the
document: EMC VSPEX End-User Computing for VMware Horizon View 5.3
and VMware vSphere for up to 250 Virtual Desktops.
An end-user computing or virtual desktop infrastructure is a complex
system offering. This document facilitates its setup by providing up-front
software and hardware material lists, systematic sizing guidance and
worksheets, and verified deployment steps. After you install the last
component, there are validation tests to ensure that your system is up and
running properly. Following the instructions in this document will ensure an

Business needs
Business applications are moving into a consolidated compute, network,
and storage environment. EMC VSPEX with Brocade Networking End-User
Computing solutions uses VMware to reduce the complexity of configuring
the components of a traditional deployment model. The complexity of
