The Brocade network switches deployed with the VSPEX solution provide
the redundant links for each ESXi host, the storage array, the switch
interconnect ports, and the switch uplink ports. This Brocade storage
network configuration provides both scalable bandwidth performance
and redundancy. The Brocade network solution can be deployed
alongside other components of a newly deployed VSPEX solution or as an
upgrade for 1 to 10 GbE transition of existing compute and storage VSPEX
solution. This network solution has validated levels of performance and
high-availability, this section illustrates the network switching capacity listed
in Table 6.
Figure 34 and Figure 35 show a sample redundant Brocade storage
network infrastructure for this solution. The diagrams illustrate the use of
redundant switches and links to ensure that there are no single points of
failure.
Figure 34 shows a sample redundant Brocade VDX Ethernet Fabric switch
for 10 GbE network between compute and storage. The diagram illustrates
the use of redundant switches with 10GbE/40GbE links to ensure that no
single points of failure exist in the NFS based storage network connectivity.
