Theresourcesummary,likecostsummary,canbeeitherBasic(default)orComplete.Ifyouselectthis
option,youmustalsoselecttheresourceswhosecostsummaryhavetobereported.Forvirtual
machines,apartfromcost,theresourceusagedetailsarealsodisplayed.
Showthesedetailsinreport:Selectthisoptionifyouwanttoincludeinformationabouttheselected
costmodelortheentityattributes,orsomeinformationmessagesinthereport.Theselected
informationcanbedisplayedfortheselectedentityanditsimmediatechildentitiesorfortheselected
entity
andalltheentitiesthatareunderitinthechargebackhierarchy.

Create Report Generation Schedules
Whengeneratingacostreportoracostcomparisonreport,youcanchoosetoschedulethereporttobe
generatedperiodically.vCenterChargebackprovidesvariousschedulingparametersforschedulingareport.

Scheduling Parameters
Youcansetthefollowingschedulingparameterswhileschedulingareport:
ReportCreationTime:Thisisthetimeofthedaywhenthereporthastobegenerated.
RecurrencePattern:Thisdefineshowoftenthereporthastobegenerated.Theavailableoptionsare:
Daily:Areportisgenerateddaily.Thereportisgeneratedforthepreviousday’sresourceutilization
orreservation,asperthebillingpolicyset.
Weekly:Thisoptionletsyouselectaseven‐dayreportingperiodaswellasthedayonwhichthereporthas
tobegenerated.Thereportingperiodconsideredisalwaystheonethatoccurredbeforethereportingday.
Forexample,ifthereportingperiodissetto Sunday–Saturdayandthe
reportgenerationdayasThursday,
thereportgeneratedeveryThursda yisfortheperiodSundaythroughSaturdayoftheearlierweek.
Monthly:Inthiscase,thereportingperiodisonemonth.Youcanselectthedateofthemonthstarting
fromwhichthebillinghastobedone.Youcanalsodefineaschedulepolicythatdefineswhenthe
reporthastobegenerated.Forexample,supposeyouwanttogenerate
areportonthe5thofeach
monthfortheperiodfromthe2ndofthepreviousmonththroughthe1stofthecurrentmonth.In
thiscase,youcanspecifythestartbillingdateforthemonthas2andthereportgenerationdayas5,
whichisthescheduling
policy.
Quarterly:Thisoptionletsyouspecifyadateofthefirstmonthofaquarteronwhichthereportfor
thepreviousquarterhastobegenerated.ThequartersdefinedareJanuary–March,April–June,
July–September,andOctober–December.Forexample,ifthedateissetto5,thenthereportforthe
periodAprilthroughJuneisgeneratedonthe5thofJulyandthereportfortheperiodJulythrough
Septemberwillbegeneratedon5thofOctober.
