Chapter 4 Authenticating and Managing Users, Roles, and Permissions
Revoke Roles and Permissions Assigned to a User
Rolesandpermissionssetonausercanberevokedasandwhenrequired.
To remove the role assigned to a user
1IntheUsers&Rolestab,clickPermissions.
Apagelistingalltheusers,theirtype,andwhethertheuserisaSuperUserisdisplayed.Thepagealso
providesanoptiontoselectahierarchy.
2 Select
therequiredhierarchyfromthelistofhierarchies.
Therightmostpaneonthepagedisplaysalistoftherolesdefinedintheapplication.
3 Selecttheuserfromthetablelistingtheusers.
4 SelectNoRolefromthelistunderSetRole.
5ClickApply.
TheRolescolumninthetablelistingtheusersdisplaysacrossmarkcorrespondingtotheuserwhoserole
yourevoked.
Revokingarolefromauseronahierarchydoesnotremovethepermissionsseparatelyassignedtotheuser
attheentitylevelofthehierarchy.
To revoke individual permissions assigned to a user
1IntheUsers&Rolestab,clickPermissions.
Apagelisting
alltheusers,theirusertype,andwhethertheuserisaSuperUserisdisplayed.Thepage
alsoprovidesanoptiontoselectahierarchy.
2 Selecttherequiredhierarchyfromthelistofhierarchies.
Therightmostpaneonthepagedisplaysalistoftherolesdefinedinthe
application.
3 Expandthehierarchyandtraversetotheentityforwhichyouwanttorevokethepermissionsoftheuser.
Therightmostpaneonthepagedisplaysasetofpermissionsthatcanbeassignedtoanyuserforthat
entity.
4 Selecttheuserfromthetablelistingtheusers.
5Inthe
SetPermissionspane,deselectthepermissionsthatyouwanttoremove.
6ClickApply.
Theuser’spermissionsarerevokedforthatentityanditschildentities.
