aplug‐intoVIClient.Ifthisoptionisselected,eachtimeyoulogintothisvCenterServerusingthe
VIClient,thevCenterChargebackplug‐inwillbedisplayedon
theVIClient.Youcanaccessthe
vCenterChargebackapplicationfromtheVIClientasavCenterServeruser.Ensurethatyoudonot
registermorethanonevCenterChargebackinstanceasaplug‐inforasinglevCenterServer.
EnableStatsReplication:SelectthisoptionifyouwanttheresourceusagestatisticsfromthevCenter
ServerDatabasetobereplicatedinthevCenterChargebackDatabase.
4ClickAdd.
ThevCenterServerisaddedtotheapplicationandincludedinthetablelistingthevCenterServerinstances.
Ensurethatthesystemtime
onthevCenterServer,vCenterServerdatabase,vCenterChargeback,andvCenter
Chargebackdatabase,anddatacollectorareinsync.
IfthevCenterServeruseraccountpasswordischangedonthevCenterServer ,youmustalsoreflectthis
changeinvCenterChargeback.IfthepasswordforthevCenterServerdatabaseuseris
changedinthevCenter
Serverdatabase,youmustalsoreflectthischangeinvCenterChargeback.
Edit vCenter Server Information
IfthereisachangeinthevCenterServerconfiguration(forexample,achangeinthevCenterServerdatabase
URL),youmustmakethecorrespondingchangesinthevCenterChargebackapplication.However,you
cannotmodifythevCenterServerID,hostnameorIPaddressofthevCenterServer,thevCenterServer
versionnumber,andthevCenterServerViewType.
To modify a vCenter Server
1IntheSettingstab,clickvCenterServers.
AtablelistinginformationaboutthevCenterServerinstancesaddedtotheapplicationisdisplayed.
2 SelectthevCenterServerforwhichyouwanttomodifythedetails,andclickEdit.
ThevCenterServerInformationscreenis
displayed.
3ModifythedetailsandclickEdit.
Delete vCenter Server Information
IfyoudonotwanttocalculatecostsandgeneratereportsforthevirtualmachinesmanagedbyavCenter
Server,youcanremovethevCenterServerfromthevCenterChargebackapplication.
To remove a vCenter Server
1IntheSettingstab,clickvCenterServers.
AtablelistingallthevCenterServersisdisplayed.
2 SelectthevCenterServer
thatyouwanttoremoveandclickDelete.
IfanyoftheentitiesofthevCenterServerarepartofachargebackhierarchy,theManagelinkedentities
screenisdisplayed.YoucanremovetheentitiesfromthehierarchypermanentlybyclickingDeleteall
theseentries.Youcanretaintheentities
byclickingKeepalltheseentries.Ifyouchoosetoretainthe
entities,theywillbetemporarilyremovedfromthehierarchyandwillappearautomaticallywhenyou
re‐addthevCenterServeratalaterstage.
3ClicktheappropriateoptionontheManagelinkedentitiesscreen.
Adialogboxconfirmingthe
deleteactionisdisplayed.
4ClickOKtoconfirmthedeletion.

MPORTANTEnsurethattheserversanddatabaseshavestaticIPaddresses.Ifnot,providetheFQDNfor
suchserversanddatabases.
