Chapter 7 Generating Reports
Monthly:Inthiscase,thereportingperiodisonemonth.Youcanselectthedateofthemonthstarting
fromwhichthebillinghastobedone.Youcanalsodefineaschedulepolicythatdefineswhenthe
reporthastobegenerated.Forexample,supposeyouwanttogenerate
areportonthe5thofeach
monthfortheperiodfromthe2ndofthepreviousmonththroughthe1stofthecurrentmonth.In
thiscase,youcanspecifythestartbillingdateforthemonthas2andthereportgenerationdayas5,
whichisthescheduling
policy.
Quarterly:Thisoptionletsyouspecifyadateofthefirstmonthofaquarteronwhichthereportfor
thepreviousquarterhastobegenerated.ThequartersdefinedareJanuary–March,April–June,
July–September,andOctober–December.Forexample,ifthedateissetto5,thenthereportforthe
periodAprilthroughJuneisgeneratedonthe5thofJulyandthereportfortheperiodJulythrough
Septemberwillbegeneratedon5thofOctober.
HalfYearly:ThisissimilartotheQuarterlyoption.Inthiscase,thereportisgeneratedfora
six‐monthduration.ThereportforthedurationJanuarytoJuneisgeneratedonthesetdateinJuly.
ThereportforthedurationJulytoDecemberisgeneratedontheset
dateinJanuary.
Yearly:ThisoptionissimilartotheMonthlyoption.Youcanselectthemonthanddaystartingfrom
whichthebillinghastobedone.Youcanalsodefineaschedulepolicythatdefineswhenthereport
hastobegenerated.Forexample,supposeyouwanttogenerateayearly
reportonthesecondSunday
ofJanuaryfortheearlieryear.Inthiscase,youcanspecifythebillingdayas1,themonthasJanuary,
andthereportgenerationdayasthesecondSundayofJanuary,whichistheschedulingpolicy.
Custom:Youcansetacustombillingperiodbyspecifyingthestartingdatebillingasthenumberof
dayspriortothereportgenerationdayandthedurationforwhichtheentitieshavetobebilled.You
mustalsospecifyhowoftenthereporthastobegenerated.Thisvalue
issetasnumberofdays.For
example,supposeyouwanttoscheduleabi‐weeklyreport.Setthestartdateforbillingas14days
priortothereportgenerationday,durationas14days,andthereportschedulingpolicyas14days.
RangeofRecurrence:Therecurrencerangespecifiesthestartandenddateoftheperiodforwhichthe
reportscheduleisavailable.Thereportschedulewillberemovedafterthespecifiedenddate.Youcan
alsocreateanever‐endingschedule.
Schedule Report Generation
Whengeneratingareport,youcanchoosetoschedulethereportgenerationfromtheCreateReportscreen.
To schedule report generation
1 SelecttheSchedulethisreportoptionontheGeneraltaboftheCreateReportscreen.
2 SelecttheScheduletabandsetthefollowingschedulingparameters:
ReportCreationTime:Whenthereporthastobegenerated.
RecurrencePattern:Howoftenthereporthastobegenerated.
RangeofRecurrence:Tillwhenthereporthastobegeneratedperiodically.
Toknowmoreabouttheseschedulingparameters,referto“SchedulingParameters”onpage 78.
3ClickGenerateReport.
Thereportisgeneratedperiodicallyasperthescheduleoptionsset.Thegeneratedreportsareautomatically
archivedandcanbeviewedfromtheArchivedReportspageoftheReportstab.
AllactivereportschedulecanbeaccessedfromtheScheduleReportspageoftheReportstab.Expiredreport
scheduleareautomaticallyremovedfromthetableonthispage.Areportschedulewouldexpireonlyifthe
rangeofrecurrenceislimitedwithanend
date.Evenifareportschedulehasexpired,thereportsgenerated
andarchivedasperthescheduleareavailableandcanbeviewedfromtheArchivedReportspageofthe
Reportstab.
