Modify a Cost Template
Afteracostmodeliscreated,youcanmodifyitasandwhenrequired.
To modify a cost template
1IntheManageCosttab,clickCostTemplate.
Atablelistingallthecosttemplatescreatedintheapplicationisdisplayed.
2 SelectthecosttemplatethatyouwanttomodifyandclickEdit.
TheCostTemplatescreen
isdisplayed.
3Modifytherequiredinformation.
YoucaneditgenericinformationsuchasnameanddescriptionintheGeneraltab.Tomodifytherate
factorsforthecomputingresources,selecttheRateFactorstabandmakethenecessarymodifications.
YoucanmodifythefixedcostsintheFixedCoststab.
4ClickSave.
Changesmadetoacosttemplatearenotautomaticallyreflectedontheentitiesonwhichthetemplateis
applied.Youmustexplicitlyreapplythetemplateontheentitiesforthechangestotakeeffect.
Delete a Cost Template
Invalidorunwantedcosttemplatescanberemovedfromtheapplication.
To delete a cost template
1IntheManageCosttab,clickCostTemplate.
Atablelistingallthecosttemplatescreatedintheapplicationisdisplayed.
2 Selectthecosttemplatethatyouwanttodelete,andclickDelete.
Adialogboxconfirmingtheactionis
displayed.
3ClickOK.
Thecosttemplate isdeletedfrom theapplicationand,consequently,from thetablelistingthecosttemplates.
Configure Cost at the Entity Level
Thebaseratesdefinedinacostmodelareglobalvaluesandcanbe applieduniformlytotheentitiesand
hierarchiesforwhichyougenerateareport.In areal‐worldscenario,however,youmightwanttochargeeach
entityorasetofentitiesdifferently.Thatis,theresourceusage
costsforone virtualmachinemightdifferfrom
thatfortheother.Thiscanbe achievedonlyifthecostsforeachentityorasetofentitiesinth ehierarchyare
configuredseparately.Youmightalsowantchargesomefixe dcostsandentit y‐specificcustomfixedcostsfor
some
oftheentities.
