Delete an Entity from the Hierarchy
YoucandeletethevCenterServerentitiesandvCenterChargebackentitiesfromachargebackhierarchy.If
youhaveaddedavCenterServerentitytothechargebackhierarchy,youcannotremoveanyofitschild
entitieswithoutdeletingthedirectlyaddedvCenterServerentityfromthechargebackhierarchy.
To delete an entity from a chargeback hierarchy
1ClicktheManageHierarchy
tab.
2 Selectthechargebackhierarchyfromthedrop‐downlistontheleftpaneofthepage.
Thecollapsedviewofthechargebackhierarchyisdisplayed.
3 Expandthehierarchybyclickingtheplussign(+)totheleftofthehierarchyname.
Thefirst‐levelentitiesinthehierarchyaredisplayed.Youcanviewalltheentitiesinthehierarchyby
clickingtheplussigntotheleftoftheentitiesthathavesub‐entities.
4Right‐clicktheentitythatyouwanttoremoveandselectDeletefromthepop‐upmenu.
Adialogconfirmingtheactionisdisplayed
5ClickOK.
Theentityand
itschildentities,ifany,areremovedfromthehierarchy.
Evenifanentityisdeletedfromthehierarchy,thegeneratedreportsincludethesedeletedentitiesforthetime
periodtheywereavailableinthehierarchy.vCenterChargebackmaintainsthehistoryofthechargeback
hierarchiescreated.Therefore,thecostinformationof
thedeletedentitiescanberetrievedfortheperiodthey
existedinthechargebackhierarchy.
Delete a Chargeback Hierarchy
Youcanremoveinvalidorunwantedchargebackhierarchiesfromtheapplication.
To delete a chargeback hierarchy
1ClicktheManageHierarchytab.
2 Selectthechargebackhierarchyfromthedrop‐downlistontheleftpaneofthepage.
Thecollapsedviewofthechargebackhierarchyisdisplayed.
3Right‐clickthehierarchyandselectDeletethishierarchyfromthe
pop‐upmenu.
Adialogboxconfirmingtheactionisdisplayed.
4ClickOK.
Thechargebackhierarchyisdeletedpermanentlyfromtheapplication.
Assign Attributes
Youcanassociateattributeswithoneormoreentities.Forexample,youcancreateanattributecalled
Geo_locationandthenaddittotherequiredentitiesandgiveitthevaluethatindicatestheirgeographical
location.
To assign attributes to an entity
1ClicktheManageHierarchytab.
2 Selectthechargebackhierarchyfromthedrop‐downliston
theleftpaneofthepage.
Thecollapsedviewofthechargebackhierarchyisdisplayed.
