Jobtakemorethan5minutestocomplete.InvSphere4.0,theVMware
VirtualCenterManagementWebservicesservicemustberunningonthevCenterServermachinefor
thestoragesynchronizationtocompletesuccessfully.
InventorySyncingJob:ThedatacollectorcopiesthevCenterServerinventoryintothevCenter
Chargebackdatabase.ThissynchronizationjobensuresthattheinventoryinformationinthevCenter
ChargebackdatabaseisinsyncwiththecorrespondinginformationinthevCenterServerdatabase.
StatsSyncingJob:IftheEnableStatsReplicationoptionisselectedforavCenterServeraddedtothe
application,allthevitalstatisticsrequiredforcostcalculationisreplicatedinthevCenterChargeback
database.ThissynchronizationjobensuresthatthestatisticsinformationinthevCenterChargeback
databaseisinsyncwith
thecorrespondinginformationinthevCenterServerdatabase.
JobInterval:Theintervalbetweenconsecutivejobruns.Thevaluescanbe:
‐1:specialcodeforjobsthatruneternally.
Positivenumber:Apositivevalueindicatingtherepetitionintervalinminutes.Theconsecutivejob
startsnminutesfromthecompletionoftheearlierrunofthejob,wherendenotesthevalueentered

LastSynchronizeTime:Thetimestampwhenthesynchronizationjobwaslastcompleted.
JobState:Thestatusofthesynchronizationjob.Thedisplayedvaluesare:
Running:Thejobisinprogress.
Waiting:Thejobisnotstartedyet.Itiseitherwaitingtobeassignedtoadatacollectororwaitingfor
theassigneddatacollectortostartit.
Failed:Thejobhasfailed.Ifthejobhasfailed,thejobisreassignedtoadatacollectorafter10minutes.
Done:Referstojobsthatarerunatspecificintervalsandthepreviousruniscomplete.
Enable Data Collector
Ifadatacollectorregisteredwiththeapplicationisdisabled,youcanenableitfromtheapplication.
To enable a data collector
1IntheSettingstab,clickDataCollectors.
Atablelistingallthedatacollectorsregisteredwiththeapplicationisdisplayed.
2 Selectthedatacollectorthatyouwanttoenable.
3ClickEnable.

MPORTANTForvCenterServer2.5Update3,ensurethatthestatscollectionlevelissetto2orabove
fortheaveragememoryusagecountertobeavailable.Ifthestatscollectionlevelissetto1,thecost
foractualmemoryusagecannotbecalculated.
