hierarchywillbedisplayedinasimilarmanner.Onceset,thisoptioncannotbeeditedforthevCenter
Server.
RegisterAsVIClientPlugin:SelectthisoptionifyouwouldliketoregistervCenterChargebackas
aplug‐intoVIClient.Ifthisoptionisselected,eachtimeyoulogintothisvCenterServerusingthe
VIClient,thevCenterChargebackplug‐inwillbedisplayedon
theVIClient.Youcanaccessthe
vCenterChargebackapplicationfromtheVIClientasavCenterServeruser.Ensurethatyoudonot
registermorethanonevCenterChargebackinstanceasaplug‐inforasinglevCenterServer.
EnableStatsReplication:SelectthisoptionifyouwanttheresourceusagestatisticsfromthevCenter
ServerDatabasetobereplicatedinthevCenterChargebackDatabase.
4ClickAdd.
ThevCenterServerisaddedtotheapplicationandincludedinthetablelistingthevCenterServerinstances.
Ensurethatthesystemtime
onthevCenterServer,vCenterServerdatabase,vCenterChargeback,andvCenter
Chargebackdatabase,anddatacollectorareinsync.
IfthevCenterServeruseraccountpasswordischangedonthevCenterServer ,youmustalsoreflectthis
changeinvCenterChargeback.IfthepasswordforthevCenterServerdatabaseuseris
changedinthevCenter
Serverdatabase,youmustalsoreflectthischangeinvCenterChargeback.
Edit vCenter Server Information
IfthereisachangeinthevCenterServerconfiguration(forexample,achangeinthevCenterServerdatabase
URL),youmustmakethecorrespondingchangesinthevCenterChargebackapplication.However,you
cannotmodifythevCenterServerID,hostnameorIPaddressofthevCenterServer,thevCenterServer
versionnumber,andthevCenterServerViewType.
To modify a vCenter Server
1IntheSettingstab,clickvCenterServers.
AtablelistinginformationaboutthevCenterServerinstancesaddedtotheapplicationisdisplayed.
2 SelectthevCenterServerforwhichyouwanttomodifythedetails,andclickEdit.
ThevCenterServerInformationscreenis
displayed.
3ModifythedetailsandclickEdit.

MPORTANTEnsurethattheserversanddatabaseshavestaticIPaddresses.Ifnot,providetheFQDNfor
suchserversanddatabases.
IMPORTANTEnsurethattheRegisterAsVIClientPluginoptionisdeselectedforallthevCenterServer
instancesaddedtoavCenterChargebackvirtualappliancebeforethevirtualapplianceisdeleted.Ifthis
optionisnotdeselectedbeforethevirtualapplianceisdeleted,youcannotremovetheplug‐infromthe
VI
Client.ThisissueexistswitharegularvCenterChargebackinstallationaswell.Iftheapplicationinstanceis
registeredasaplug‐inwithavCenterServerandtheinstanceisuninstalled,youcannotremovetheplug‐in
fromtheVIClient.
