Configure the LDAP Server Setting
YoumustconfiguretheLDAPServersettingtoenableWindowsActiveDirectoryuserstoaccessthe
applicationusingtheirWindowsActiveDirectorylogincredentials.vCenterChargebacksupportsMicrosoft
WindowsServer2003ActiveDirectoryandMicrosoftWindowsServer2008ActiveDirectory.
To configure the LDAP server setting
1IntheSettingstab,clickGeneral.
2ClickAddintheLDAP
Settingsection.
TheManageLDAPServerscreenisdisplayed.
3EnterthefollowinginformationfortheLDAPserver:
ServerAddress:StaticIPaddressoftheLDAPserver.IftheseverdoesnothaveastaticIPaddress,
ensurethatyouprovidethefully‐qualifieddomainname(FQDN).
UserName:TheLDAPaccounttoauthenticateintotheLDAPserver.Theusernamecanbeofthe
formatsuser_name@domain_nameordomain_name\user_name.Preferably,usetheUserPrincipal
Name(UPN).
Password:Passwordfortheusernameprovided.
BaseDN:TheDistinguishedName(DN)ofaLDAPserverdirectoryentry.Thebasednentryshould
beoftheformdc=<domain_name>,dc=com.Onlythegroupsandusersdefinedunderthisentryin
theActiveDirectoryhierarchycanbeaddedtotheapplication.
Port:PortonwhichtheLDAPserviceislistening.
LDAPLimit:ThemaximumnumberofWindowsActiveDirectoryusersorgroupstobefetchedand
displayedintheAddUsersAccountscreenoftheapplication.
4ClickAdd.
OnsuccessfullyconfiguringtheLDAPserversetting,theIPaddressoftheLDAPserverisdisplayedinthe
LDAPSettingsection.Youcan
nowaddtheWindowsActiveDirectoryusersandgroupstovCenter
ChargebacksothattheycanaccesstheapplicationusingtheirWindowsActiveDirectorylogincredentials.
To knowmoreaboutaddingLDAPusersandgroupstotheapplication,see“CreateUser”onpage 45.
IftheLDAPuseraccountpasswordischangedon
theLDAPserver,youmustalsoreflectthischangein
vCenterChargeback.
AfteryouhaveconfiguredtheLDAPserversettings,youcanchangethesesettingsanytime,providedyou
havetherequiredprivileges.
To edit the LDAP server setting
1IntheSettingstab,clickGeneral.
2ClickEditintheLDAPSettingsection.
TheManageLDAPServerscreen
isdisplayed.
3Modifytherequiredinformation.
