VMwarevCenterChargebackDataCollector‐Individual:StartingthisservicestartstheDataCollector
instancethatwasinstalledindividually(inthiscase,thenameoftheinstanceisDataCollector)andnot
withtheapplication.
YoucanalsostartandstoptherelatedservicesfromtheStart > Programs > VMware >VMware vCenter
Chargeback > vCenter Chargeback Servicesmenu.
Themenuprovidesshortcutstostartandstopthe
followingservices:
vCenterChargebackservice
DataCollectorservice
LoadBalancerservice
Thedatacollectorsthat areinstalledindividuallyandnotalongwiththeapplicationcanbemanagedfromthe
Start > Programs > VMware > VMware vCenter Chargeback DataCollectormenu.
Ifalltherequiredservicesarerunning,youcanaccessvCenterChargebackthroughasupportedWebbrowser.
To access the vCenter Chargeback application:
1ClickLaunchChargebackHomepagefromtheStart > Programs > VMware
>VMware vCenter
Chargebackmenu.
Aloginpageisdisplayed.
2Enterthelogincredentials,andclickLogin.
Downloading and Installing Data Collector
YoucandownloadthedatacollectorinstallerfromthevCenterChargebackapplication.
To download the installer:
1LogintothevCenterChargebackapplication.
2ClicktheSettingstab.
3ClickDataCollectors.
4ClicktheDownloadDataCollectorlink.
5Inthedownloaddialogbox,clickSaveFile.Theinstaller(vCenter-CB-DC.zip)isdownloadedand
savedonyoursystem.
To install the Data Collector:
1Extract
andrunthevCenter-CB-DC.exefile.
2ClickNextontheIntroductionscreen.
3Accepttheend‐userlicenseagreement,andclickNext.
4Ifadatacollectorinstanceexistsonthemachine,theinstallerallowsyouto:
Createanewdatacollectorinstance
Upgradetheexistingdatacollectorinstance
Ifyouchoosetocreateanewinstance,youmustprovideauniquenamefortheinstance.Thedefaultname
isDataCollector.ClickNext.

OTEThisscreenappearsonlyforsecondandsubsequentinstallationsofthedatacollectoronthesame
machine.
