Solution
1VerifywithITthatthevCenterHTTPSWebServiceportonthefirewallisopenfromtheAppSpeedserver
tovCenterServer.
2Runsetupagain.
3Iftheproblempersists,tryrunningTelnettothe
vCenterIPwiththevCenterHTTPSWebService
configuredtoport443toverifythattheportisopen.
Problem
Thefollowingerrormessageappears:
Theremoteserverreturnedanerror:ServerUnavailable
Cause
ThevSphereClientorVIClientusesHTTPtodownloadtheAppSpeeduserinterfacefromtheAppSpeed
server.If
thefirewallbetweenthevSphereClientorVIClientandtheAppSpeedserverisclosedforport80,
thedownloadfails.
Solution
1Verifythatport80isopenonthefirewall.
2Iftheproblempersists,logintotheAppSpeedservervirtualmachineastheconsoleuserandrun
restart_AppSpeed.
Problem
The
followingerrormessageappears:
Theapplicationfailedtoinitializeproperly,clickOKtoterminatetheapplication.
Cause
AproblemoccurredintheAppSpeedserver.
Solution
1LogintotheAppSpeedservervirtualmachineastheconsoleuser.
2Fromtheconsole,runrestart_AppSpeed.

IfyouhaveproblemsloadingtheAppSpeeduserinterface,trythesetroubleshootingsuggestions.
Problem
AfterclickingtheAppSpeedplug‐inDownloadandInstalllink,thefollowingmessageappears:
Theremoteserverreturnedanerror:(404)NotFound.
Cause
TheAppSpeedplug‐infailstoinstallifvCenterisnotconfiguredtoworkwith
port80.
Solution
1Manuallydownloadthesetup.exefilefrom:
http://<vCenter_IP>:<HTTPS_Port>/AppSpeed/static/setup.exe
2Runthesetup.exefile.(ClosethevCenterbeforeperformingtheinstallation)
