Overview of the Upgrade Process
TheAppSpeedupgradeprocessusesanISOimageandisfullyautomated.TheISOimageisprovidedby
VMware.
YouupgradeAppSpeedbyconnectingtheISOimagewiththenewversiontotheAppSpeedservermachine
andrunningacommand‐lineinterface(CLI)command.TheCLIcommandperformsthefollowingactions:
1UpgradestheAppSpeedserverandperformstwosequentialreboots.
2SetsuptheAppSpeedserverwiththenewversion,keepingallconfigurationsandmonitoringdataofthe
previousversion.
3CreatesarecoveryvirtualmachinesnapshotontheAppSpeedservermachinetowhichyoucanrevertat
anytime.
4Createsabackupcopyof
alltheconfigurationandmonitoringdatatoenabletheupgradetorestore
existingdata.
5 Distributestheupgradedversiontoallprobes.
YoucanobservetheprogressoftheAppSpeedserverupgradeandsetupprocessesfromtheconsole.Youcan
observetheredeploymentoftheprobesintheAppSpeeduserinterface.
