Upgrading the Virtual Machine Version
IfyoucreatedvirtualmachineswithanearlierversionofVMwareServeroranother
VMwareproduct,youcanupgradethevirtualmachineversionsothatyoucantake
advantageofnewVMwareServer2features,suchasincreasedmaximummemoryper
virtualmachine.
Ifavirtualmachinewithnewfeaturesis
migratedtoWorkstation6,allthelatest
VMwareServer2featuresaresupported.However,youcannotmigratethevirtual
machinetomostotherVMwareproducts.

To upgrade the virtual machine version
1InVIWebAccess,selectthevirtualmachinefromtheInventorypanel.
2Makesure
thatthevirtualmachineispoweredoff.
3ClickUpgradeVirtualMachineintheStatussectionoftheworkspace.
4ClickOKtoconfirmthatyouwanttoupgradethevirtualmachine.
Afterthevirtualmachineversionisupdated,youcanconfigureittousethefeatures
supportedwiththenewversion.
