Configuring the Virtual Machines
Nowyouhavetwohost‐onlyinterfaces(VMnet1andVMnet2).Youarereadytosetup
yourvirtualmachinesforoneofthefollowingconfigurations:
Thevirtualmachineisconfiguredwithonevirtualnetworkadapter,andthat
virtualadapterisconnectedtothedefaulthost‐onlyinterface(VMnet1).
Thevirtualmachineisconfiguredwithonevirtualnetworkadapter,andthat
virtualadapterisconnectedtothenewlycreatedhost‐onlyinterface(VMnet2).
Thevirtualmachineisconfiguredwithtwovirtualnetworkadapters.Onevirtual
adapterisconnectedtothedefaulthost‐onlyinterface(VMnet1)andtheother
virtualadapterisconnectedtothenewlycreatedhost‐onlyinterface(VMnet2).
Configuration 1 — Connect to the Default Host-Only Interface
1 Createthevirtualmachineoruseanexistingvirtualmachine.
2 LaunchVI WebAccess
andselectthevirtualmachine.
3Edittheconfigurationusingthevirtualnetworkeditor.
4 SelectNIC,selectCustom,andselectVMnet1(Host‐only)(onaWindowshost)or
/dev/vmnet1(onaLinuxhost)fromthedrop‐downlistontheright.
