YoucanremovetheUSBcontrollerfromavirtualmachineifyounolongerwanttouse
USBdevicesinthevirtualmachine.
To remove the USB controller
1 SelectthevirtualmachineintheInventorypanel.
2Makesurethatthevirtualmachineispoweredoff.
3IntheHardwaresectionoftheSummarytab,clicktheUSBcontroller
andselect
Remove.
4Adialogboxasksyoutoconfirmthatyouwanttoremovethecontroller.Ifyou
wanttoremoveit,clickYes.
TheUSBcontrollerisremoved.
Connecting USB Devices
BeforeyoucanuseUSBdevicesinavirtualmachine,youmustaddaUSBcontroller.

WhenyouphysicallypluganewUSBdeviceintothehostsystem,thedeviceisinitially
connectedtothehost.Thedevicenameis
alsoaddedtothePluggedintoHostlistin
theUSBcontrollertoolbarmenusothatyoucanconnectittothevirtualmachine,as
describedinthissection.
IfthephysicalUSBdeviceisconnectedtothehostsystemthroughahub,thevirtual
machineseesonlytheUSBdevice,
notthehub.
To connect a USB device to a virtual machine
1 SelectthevirtualmachineintheInventorypanel.
2FromtheUSBcontrollermenuinthetoolbar,selectthedeviceyouwanttoconnect
tointhePluggedintoHostlist.
WhentheUSBdeviceisconnectedtothevirtualmachine,itappearsasselectedinthe
toolbarmenu.
