Editing a Virtual Floppy Drive
Whenyoueditavirtualfloppydrive,youcanmodifytheconnectionstatusandwhich
physicaldriveorfloppyimagefiletoconnectto.Whenthevirtualmachineispowered
off,youcanalsochangethevirtualdevicenode.
Youcanconnectonlyonevirtualfloppydrivetoeachphysicaldrive
onthehostsystem.
Thephysicaldevicecanbeconnectedtoonlyonevirtualmachineatatime.
To edit an existing floppy drive
1 SelectthevirtualmachineintheInventorypanel.
2IntheHardwaresectionoftheSummarytab,clickthefloppydrivetomodifyand
selectEdit.
3 SelectHostMediatoconfigureaphysicaldrive
orfloppyimagefileonthehost
system.
Ifyouwanttouseafloppydriveonaclientsystem,selectClientMedia.Use
VMwareRemoteConsoletoselectandconnectordisconnecttheclientdevice.See

selectConnectatpowerontohavethe
driveconnecttothevirtualmachinewhenyoupoweron.
NOTEBydefault,onlyonefloppydriveisenabledinthevirtualmachine’sBIOS.Ifyou
areaddingasecondfloppydrivetothevirtualmachine,configurethevirtualmachine
toentertheBIOSsetuputilitywhenitboots,asdescribedin“ChangingVirtual
MachinePowerSettings”onpage 125.Onthe
mainscreen,selectLegacyDisketteB:
andusetheplus(+)andminus()keysonthenumericalkeypadtoselectthetypeof
floppydriveyouwanttouse.PressF10tosaveyourchangesandclosetheBIOSsetup
utility.
