Using VMware Horizon Client for Windows Store
This guide, Using VMware Horizon Client for Windows Store, provides information about installing and
usingVMware Horizon™ Client software on a Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 RT, or Windows 8.1 Pro device
to connect to a remote desktop in the datacenter.
The information in this document includes system requirements and instructions for installing and using
Horizon Client for Windows Store.
This information is intended for administrators who must set up a View deployment that includes Windows
8.1, Windows 8.1 RT, or Windows 8.1 Pro client devices. The information is written for experienced system
administrators who are familiar with virtual machine technology and datacenter operations.
Setup and Installation
Setting up a View deployment for Windows Store clients involves using certain View Connection Server
configuration settings, meeting the system requirements for View servers and Windows 8.1 device clients,
and installing the VMware Horizon Client app.
System Requirements
You can install Horizon Client on many Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 RT, and Windows 8.1 Pro devices.
The device on which you install Horizon Client, and the peripherals it uses, must meet certain system
requirements.

not require a VPN connection.
Remote applications are available only on Horizon 6.0.x with View servers.
