Option Description
-list -monitorid monitor_id Displays the monitor instances for the specified health monitor
ID.
-monitorid monitor_id Specifies a health monitor ID.
Examples
List all existing health monitors in XML using Unicode characters.
vdmadmin -H -list -xml
List all instances of the vCenter monitor (VCMonitor) in XML using ASCII characters.
vdmadmin -H -list -monitorid VCMonitor -xml -n
Display the health of a specified vCenter monitor instance.
vdmadmin -H -monitorid VCMonitor -instanceid 4aec2c99-4879-96b2-de408064d035 -xml
Listing and Displaying Reports of View Operation Using
the I Option
You can use the vdmadmin command with the -I option to list the available reports of View operation and
to display the results of running one of these reports.
Syntax
vdmadmin -I [-b authentication_arguments] -list [-xml] [-w | -n]
vdmadmin -I [-b authentication_arguments] -report report -view view [-startdate yyyy-MM-dd-HH:mm:ss]
[-enddate yyyy-MM-dd-HH:mm:ss] [-w | -n] -xml | -csv
Usage Notes
You can use the command to display the available reports and views, and to display the information that
View has recorded for a specified report and view.
You can also use the vdmadmin command with the -I option to generate View log messages in syslog
format. See Generating View Event Log Messages in Syslog Format Using the I Option.
