Procedure
1 In the MMC window on the Windows Server host, expand the  (local computer) node and
select the Personal folder.
2 From the Action menu, go to All Tasks > Request New  to display the Certicate Enrollment
wizard.

5 Click Finish.
The new signed certicate is added to the Personal >  folder in the Windows Certicate Store.
What to do next
n
Verify that the server certicate and certicate chain were imported into the Windows Certicate Store.
n
For a View Connection Server instance or security server, modify the certicate friendly name to vdm.
See “Modify the Certicate Friendly Name,” on page 85.
n
For a View Composer server, bind the new certicate to the port that used by View Composer. See
“Bind a New SSL Certicate to the Port Used by View Composer,” on page 87.
Configure View Connection Server, Security Server, or View
Composer to Use a New SSL Certificate
To congure a View Connection Server instance, security server, or View Composer instance to use an SSL
certicate, you must import the server certicate and the entire certicate chain into the Windows local
computer certicate store on the View Connection Server, security server, or View Composer host.
In a pod of replicated View Connection Server instances, you must import the server certicate and
certicate chain on all instances in the pod.
By default, the Blast Secure Gateway (BSG) uses the SSL certicate that is congured for the View
Connection Server instance or security server on which the BSG is running. If you replace the default, self-
signed certicate for a View server with a CA-signed certicate, the BSG also uses the CA-signed certicate.
I To congure View Connection Server or security server to use a certicate, you must change
the certicate Friendly name to vdm. Also, the certicate must have an accompanying private key.
If you intend to replace an existing certicate or the default, self-signed certicate with a new certicate after
you install View Composer, you must run the SviConfig ReplaceCertificate utility to bind the new
certicate to the port used by View Composer.
Procedure
1 Add the Certicate Snap-In to MMC on page 84
Before you can add certicates to the Windows Certicate Store, you must add the Certicate snap-in
to the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) on the Windows Server host on which the View server
is installed.
2 Import a Signed Server Certicate into a Windows Certicate Store on page 84
You must import the SSL server certicate into the Windows local computer certicate store on the
Windows Server host on which the View Connection Server instance or security server service is
installed.
