Solution
1 In vSphere Client, click Administration > vCenter Server  > Runtime .
2 Type a new unique ID and click OK.

Backing Up View Connection Server
After you complete the initial conguration of View Connection Server, you should schedule regular
backups of your View and View Composer conguration data.
For information about backing up and restoring your View conguration, see “Backing Up and Restoring
View Conguration Data,” on page 127.
Configuring Settings for Client Sessions
You can congure global seings that aect the client sessions and connections that are managed by a View
Connection Server instance or replicated group. You can set the session timeout length, display prelogin and
warning messages, and set security-related client connection options.
Set Options for Client Sessions and Connections
You congure global seings to determine the way client sessions and connections work.
The global seings are not specic to a single View Connection Server instance. They aect all client sessions
that are managed by a standalone View Connection Server instance or a group of replicated instances.
You can also congure View Connection Server instances to use direct, nontunneled connections between
Horizon clients and remote desktops. See “Congure the Secure Tunnel and PCoIP Secure Gateway,” on
page 33 for information about conguring direct connections.
Prerequisites
Familiarize yourself with the global seings. See “Global Seings for Client Sessions,” on page 26 and
“Global Security Seings for Client Sessions and Connections,” on page 29.
Procedure
1 In View Administrator, select View  > Global .
2 Choose whether to congure general seings or security seings.

General global settings
In the General pane, click Edit.
Global security settings
In the Security pane, click Edit.
3 Congure the global seings.
4 Click OK.
