The command creates a user account in Active Directory for the client in the specied domain and
group (if any).
Example: Adding Accounts for Clients
Add an account for a client specied by its MAC address to the MYORG domain, using the default seings
for the group kc-grp.
vdmadmin -Q -clientauth -add -domain MYORG -clientid 00:10:db:ee:76:80 -group kc-grp
Add an account for a client specied by its MAC address to the MYORG domain, using an automatically
generated password.

Enable authentication of the clients.
Enable Authentication of Clients in Kiosk Mode
You can use the vdmadmin command to enable authentication of clients that aempt to connect to their
remote desktops via a View Connection Server instance.
You must run the vdmadmin command on one of the View Connection Server instances in the group that
contains the View Connection Server instance that clients will use to connect to their remote desktops.
Although you enable authentication for an individual View Connection Server instance, all View
Connection Server instances in a group share all other seings for client authentication. You need only add
an account for a client once. In a View Connection Server group, any enabled View Connection Server
instance can authenticate the client.
If you plan to use kiosk mode with a session-based View desktop on an RDS host, you must also add the
user account to the Remote Desktop Users group.
Procedure
1 Enable authentication of clients on a View Connection Server instance.
vdmadmin -Q -enable [-b authentication_arguments] -s connection_server [-requirepassword]
Option Description
-requirepassword
Species that you require clients to provide passwords.
I If you specify this option, the View Connection Server
instance cannot authenticate clients that have automatically generated
passwords. If you change the conguration of a View Connection Server
instance to specify this option, such clients cannot authenticate themselves
and they fail with the error message Unknown username or bad
password.
-s connection_server
Species the NetBIOS name of the View Connection Server instance on
which to enable authentication of clients.
The command enables the specied View Connection Server instance to authenticate clients.
