Add a Custom Role
If the predened administrator roles do not meet your needs, you can combine specic privileges to create
your own roles in View Administrator.
Prerequisites
Familiarize yourself with the administrator privileges that you can use to create custom roles. See
“Predened Roles and Privileges,” on page 109.
Procedure
1 In View Administrator, select View  > Administrators.
2 On the Roles tab, click Add Role.
3 Type a name and description for the new role, select one or more privileges, and click OK.
The new role appears in the left pane.
Modify the Privileges in a Custom Role
You can modify the privileges in a custom role. You cannot modify the predened administrator roles.
Prerequisites
Familiarize yourself with the administrator privileges that you can use to create custom roles. See
“Predened Roles and Privileges,” on page 109.
Procedure
1 In View Administrator, select View  > Administrators.
2 On the Roles tab, select the role.
3 Click Privileges to display the privileges in the role and click Edit.
4 Select or deselect privileges.
5 Click OK to save your changes.
Remove a Custom Role
You can remove a custom role if it is not included in a permission. You cannot remove the predened
administrator roles.
Prerequisites
If the role is included in a permission, delete the permission. See “Delete a Permission,” on page 104.
Procedure
1 In View Administrator, select View  > Administrators.
2 On the Roles tab, select the role and click Remove Role.
The Remove Role buon is not available for predened roles or for custom roles that are included in a
permission.
3 Click OK to remove the role.
