2SpecifythefullyqualifiedhostnameortheIPaddressandclickOK.
Inmostcases,thedefaultportnumberdoesnotneedtobechanged.
3Completetheloginwindow.
Usethefollowinginformationtohelpyoucomplete
thefieldsthatappearinthis

UserNameandPassword–EntercredentialsforadministeringtheACE
ManagementServer.
Domain–Inmultidomainenvironments,youmightberequiredtoentera
domain(forexample,eng.com).
Search for an Instance
YoucanusethesearchfunctiontoquerytheACEManagementServerdatabaseforone
ormoreparticularACEinstances.SearchcriteriaarejoinedwithAND,notOR,
operations.
Beforeyoubegin,dooneofthefollowing:
LogintotheVMwareACEHelpDeskforanACEManagementServer.
ConnecttoanACEManagementServerfromtheWorkstationwindow.
To search for an ACE instance
1ClickSearchandspecifythecriteriatobeincludedwhenthedatabaseisqueried.
Usethefollowinginformationtohelpyouspecifysearchcriteria:
ActivatedBy–Activationmethod,suchaspassword,ActiveDirectoryuser,
oractivationkey.Ifnosuchactivationmethodexists,N/Aappearsinthe
column.
ACEVMName–NameoftheACE‐enabledvirtualmachinefromwhichthe
ACEinstancewascreated.
GuestName–(ForWindowsguestsonly)Computernameresolvedonthe
user’smachineduringinstancecustomization,ifyouusethatfeature.
The NetBIOSnameisreportedhere,anditisamaximumof15characterslong.
Eveniftheactualcomputernamecontainsmorecharacters,thenamealways
appearsasthe
NetBIOSname.
