Create a System DSN Entry for a Windows Database
Regardlessofwhetherthehostis32‐bitor64‐bit,youcreateaDSNentryfora32‐bit
system.
Beforeyoubegin,todeterminethecorrectODBCdriver,seeyouroperatingsystemand
databasedocumentation.
To create a System DSN entry for a Windows database
1Dooneofthefollowing:
On32‐bithosts,usetheODBCDataSourcesplug‐inbychoosing
Control Panel>AdministrativeTools>DataSources(ODBC).
On64‐bithosts,navigateto%WINDIR%\syswow64\odbcad32.exeanduse
thatprogramtocreateaSystemDSNentryfora32‐bitsubsystem.
ACEManagementServerdoesnotsupportODBCusinganSQLNativeClient
driveronWindows64‐bitsystems.
2 CreateanentrythatincludestheDSNname,serverIPaddressor
hostname,and
thedatabasename.
3 (Optional)IftheDSNSetupwizardprovidesanoptiontotesttheconnection,
verifythattheconnectionworkswiththedatabaseusercredentials.
4MakeanoteofthedatabaseDSN,username,andpassword.
Youcannowusethebrowser ‐basedACEManagementServer
Setupapplicationto
connecttothisdatabase.

unixODBCpackageisstoredinthe/etcdirectory(/etc/unixODBCforSUSELinux
