Makeadifferentversionofvirtualmachinethanwhatisspecifiedinthe
preferenceseditor(fromtheWorkstationmenubar,chooseEdit>
Preferences,andseethesettingforDefaulthardwarecompatibility).
Storeyourvirtualdisk’sfilesinaparticularlocation.
UseanIDEvirtualdiskforaguestoperatingsystemthatwouldotherwise
haveaSCSIvirtualdiskcreatedbydefault.
Inordertofindoutwhattypeofvirtualdiskwouldbecreatedbydefaultfor
aparticularoperatingsystem,selecttheCustomoptionandclickNext
throughthewizardpages,selectthedesiredguestoperatingsystem,andthen
continuethroughthewizarduntilyougettothepagecalledSelect
aDisk
Type.Thedefaultisalreadyselected.
Useanexistingvirtualdiskratherthancreateanewvirtualdisk.
Setmemoryoptionsthataredifferentfromthedefaults.
Assignmorethanonevirtualprocessortothevirtualmachine.
