Serveradministrators.Administratorsmustenterthispasswordbeforetheycan
modifytheserver’sconfiguration.IfyouwanttoenablearoleforusingtheHelp
DeskWebapplication,selectEnableHelpdeskRoleandspecifyapasswordthat
usersmustenterwhentheystartuptheHelpDeskapplication.See“Usingthe

To delete the ACE 2 Management Server configuration file and set a new
administrator password
1Ifyouusedcomplexsettingsinyourconfigurationfile,youmightwanttosavea
copyofthefilesothatyoucanlookatthosesettingswhileyouarereconfiguring
theserver.

3 Deletetheconfigurationfile.
NavigatetotheserversetupWebapplicationandconfiguretheserveragain,
specifyingapasswordontheAccessControlpage.
NOTEIfyouarereconfiguringtheserver,youwillnoticethatanypasswordsyou
enteredpreviouslyareshownasa12‐characterdisplayratherthanastheactual
numberofpasswordcharacters.
CAUTIONIfyouloseyouradministratorpassword(yousetthispasswordifthe
serverisconfigurednottouseLDAP),thereisnowaytoretrievethatpassword.
Youwillhavetodeletetheserverconfigurationfile,settingtheserverbacktoits
initialstate,andthenreconfiguretheserverand
setanadministratorpassword
duringthereconfiguration.
