About Database Backup
Ifyouareusinganexternaldatabase,youcanusethebackup/recoverystrategythat
youhavedeterminedisappropriateforyourdatabasesystem.
Ifyouareusingtheembeddeddatabase,youcanusestandardfile‐backuptools,such
asntbackupordd.Thedataisstoredinoneof:

Ifyouareusingtheembeddeddatabaseinaproductionenvironment:BecauseSQLite
isfile‐based,thedatabasefilecouldbemodifiedbytheACE2ManagementServer
processatthesametimeitisbeingcopiedforbackup.Therefore,aninconsistent
databasesnapshotpotentiallycouldbeproduced.Thisproblemis
unlikelytooccur
—becausethefileisusuallynotlargeandiscopiedquickly.Toavoidthepossibilityof
aninconsistentsnapshot,however,youshould:(1)stoptheserver,(2)copythefileto

OTETheSQLitedatabaseisfile‐basedandisnotdesignedtobeeffectivelyshared
acrossmultipleprocesses.Ifyouusethird‐partytoolstoaccessthedatabaseforaread
operation,therefore,youcannotdependontransactionalisolationofthependingwrite
operationsoftheASM.
CAUTIONWerecommendthatyoubackupyourACE2ManagementServerdatabase
onaregularbasistoensurethatthedatabasecanberecoveredpromptlyifneeded.
