ace_upgrade.exetostarttheupgradewizard,whichyouwillusetochangethe
fullpackageyoucreatedinStep11toanupgradepackage.Followtheinstructions
inthewizard.YouwillbeaskedtobrowsetoboththeVMwareACE1.xvirtual
machineandto
theVMwareACE2packageofthesamenameasthe1.xvirtual
machine.
2IfyouareusingamanagedACE2masterandenterpriselicense,closeandreopen
theACEMasterandrepublishpoliciesforthelicensetobeproperlyupdated.
3DeploytheupgradepackageyoucreatedinStep1
totheACEuser’smachine.
4MakesuretopoweroffallACE1.xvirtualmachinesbyshuttingdowntheguest
operatingsystemsofeachvirtualmachine.
5Fromthepackage,runace_upgrade.exe(don’trunsetup.exe).The
ace_upgrade.exeprogramuninstallsACEPlayer1.xandtheninstallsVMware
PlayerandtheACEpackage.
NOTEThepoliciesthatweresetforthe1.xvirtualmachinearenotcarriedoverto
thisACEmaster.ThedefaultpolicysettingsforACE2areusedunlessyoueditthe
policysettingsandsavethechanges.
