aninstalleronalocaldrive,youcanusethevirtualmachine’snetworkingcapabilities.
Youneedtoprovideadequatediskspacefortwotypesoffiles:
Virtualmachinefiles–Thefilesforeachvirtualmachinecanbequitelarge,
sometimesaslargeasseveralgigabytes.Thedefaultlocationforthesefilesis
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Virtual
Machines
.Tochangethedefaultlocation,gotoEdit>Preferences>Workspace.
Whenyoucreateanewvirtualmachine,youcanspecifyalocationforthatvirtual
machine’sfilesthatisdifferentfromthedefault.
Packagefiles–ThepackagefilescreatedbyWorkstationACEEditioncanbequite
large.Thedefaultlocationforthepackagefilesisafoldernamed
Packagesinside
theACEmaster’sfolder.Whenyoucreateapackage,youcanchangethelocation
forthepackage’sfiles.
Inaddition,WorkstationACEEditionneedsasubstantialamountoftemporary
workingspacewhenitcreatesapackage.Thetotalisabouttwicethecombined
sizesofallthecomponentsofthepackage.Thewizarddisplaysinformationabout
theamountofspaceneededandthelocationswherethespaceisneeded.
Ifyoudo
nothaveenoughfreespace,thewizarddisplaysanerrormessage.Youcanmove
ordeletefilesonthetargetdrivestomakeroomforthewizard’sworkingfiles.
