To respond to the hot fix request, take the following steps
1 Savethefiletoalocationyoucanreacheasilyfromthecomputeronwhichyouare
runningWorkstationACEEdition.
2InWorkstationACEEdition,opentheACEmasterfortheinstancerequiringthe
hotfix.
3 ChooseFile>Open.
4 Navigatetothelocationofthehotfixrequestfileand
clickOpen.
AhotfixtabopensintheWorkstationACEEditionwindow.Thehotfixtab
displaystheusersnameandemailaddress,theproblemthatledtothehotfix
requestandanyadditionalnotetheuserentered.
5ClickApprovehotfixtoopenadialogboxinwhichyoucanmaketheappropriate
settingstoapprovetherequest.ClickDenyhotfixtodenytherequest.
6Entertheappropriateinformationinthedialogbox:
LostorforgottenpasswordBrowsetothelocationoftheprivaterecovery
keyusedfortheproject.(See
page118forinformationaboutcreatinga
recoverykey.)Enterthepasswordfortheprivatepartoftherecoverykey.
Enterandconfirmatemporarypasswordfortheuser.Youmustcommunicate
thistemporarypasswordtotheuserseparately.
ExpiredACEinstanceSetthenewexpirationinformationfortheACE
instance.Youcanextendusebyaspecifiednumberofdaysorsetanew
expirationdate.
CopyprotectedACEinstancerunfromanewlocationThedialogbox
displaysthepathtothelocationfromwhichtheuserwantstoruntheACE
instance.
DeniedrequestThedialogboxprovidesafieldinwhichyoucanentera
messagetotheuser.
7 Selectoneofthefollowingmethodsforsendingtheresponse:
ClickSendhotfixonthehotfixtab.ThenclickOK.
Sendthehotfixfile(inthesamefolderasthehotfixrequest;thefileextension
forthefixfileis.vmhf).
8Thedisplayonthehotfixtabshowsthestatusofthehotfixrequest—approvedor
denied—andthedateonwhichyoutookaction.
Theuserappliesthehotfixbydoubleclickingthehotfixfile.
