Host Policies
BoththerequiredCreatorIDandallowVMsentriescontrolhostpolicies(the
creatorIDpolicyisnotahostpolicy).Ahostpolicyappliestotheentirehostthepolicy
isdeployedtoandnotjusttheparticularACEinstance.Anotherexampleofahost
policyisthehostnetworkaccesspolicy.
Makesure
toconsiderthefollowingwhenyoumakechangestohostpolicies:
Onlyonesetofhostpoliciescanbedeployedtoaparticularhost.Ifapackagecontains
hostpolicies andthehostalreadycontainshostpoliciesfromanotherACEmaster,then
thesecondpackagewillfailtobeinstalled.
A
packagecontaininghostpoliciesrequiresadministratorrightsforinstallation.
HostpoliciesformanagedACEmastersarestoredontheACEManagementServerand
canbeeditedatanytime.However,changestohostpolicieswillnottakeeffectona
hostunlessthathosthashadapackageinstalledfromthat
ACEmasterthatcontains
thechangedhostpolicies.
Running VMware Player
