ACEmasterfirstoneachofyourclienthosts.ThenforeachadditionalACEmasteryou
createwhichisintendedto
beinstalledonthesamehosts,setcreatorIDtothesame
value.TheACEmastersyoucreatewithyourcreatorIDvaluecanbeinstalledonthe
samehostsbutACEinstancesfromACEmasterscreatedbyanyoneelsecannotrunon
thosehosts.
NotethattheIDstringisinplain
textintheaceMaster.datfileontheadministratorʹs
machine,butwillbehiddeninthepolicyfile.IfyoupublishthepolicysetofanACE
instancetorequiredCreator=yourPolicySettingandinstallitonahost,nobody
butyou(orotherswithaccesstotheadministratorfiles)willknowwhat
thecreatorID
is.WithoutknowingtherequiredCreatorpolicysetting,youwillnotbeabletocreate
yourownACEinstancethatcanrunonthehost.
Editing the aceMaster.dat File
TheaceMaster.datfileshouldonlybeeditedwhentheACEmastertabisnotopenin
theWorkstationACEEditioninterface.TheaceMaster.datfilecanbeeditedusingany
N
OTETheaceMaster.datfileislocatedinthesamedirectoryastheconfigurationfile
(.vmxa)foryourACEmaster.
