Installing an ACE Package Silently on a Windows Host
Computer
IfyouareinstallingaVMwareACEpackageonanumberofWindowshostcomputers,
youmightwanttousethesilentinstallationfeaturesoftheMicrosoftWindows
Installer.BeforeinstallingaVMwareACEpackagesilently,youmustensurethatthe
hostcomputershaveversion2.0orhigheroftheMSI
runtimeengine.Thisversionof
theinstallerisavailableinversionsofWindowsbeginningwithWindowsXP.The
installerfortheruntimeisalsoincludedintheVMwareACEpackageas
instmsiw.exe.
ToinstalltheruntimesilentlyfromtheACEpackage,issuethefollowingcommand:
instmsiw.exe /Q
ThissectionoutlineswhatyouneedtodotoinstallanACEpackagesilently.
ForadditionaldetailsonusingtheMicrosoftWindowsInstaller,seetheMicrosoftWeb
site.
Toperformasilentinstallationusingdefaultsettings,issuethefollowingcommand:
