4ThePocketACErunsprimarilyfromthehostcache,althoughitoccasionallyreads
fromtheparentdiskontheportabledevice.TheACEdoesnotwritetotheparent
disk.

finishesusingtheinstanceandexecutesaclosecommandinPlayer,
adialogboxappearsthatoffersachoiceofleavingthesessionopenonthehost
computerorclosingthesessionandsyncingitbacktotheportabledevice.Hereare
thescenariosthatcanresultfromthechoicethe
usermakes:
aIftheuserclosesthesessionandsyncsitbacktotheportabledevice,theuser
canthentakethedevicetoanotherhostcomputerandstartupthePocketACE
there.
bIftheuserclosesthesessionbutdoesn’tsyncitbacktotheportabledevice,the

remainsonthehostcomputer.Theusercanunplugthedeviceand
takeitelsewhere,butVMwaredoesnotrecommendthattheuseractuallyrun
thePocketACEonanothercomputer.
cTheusercandiscardthesession,muchlikeasnapshotreversion,andall
changesmadetothevirtualmachinesince
thelastsynchronizationare
discarded.
6IftheuserdoesnotclosethePocketACEandunplugsthedevice,theACEremains
inaSuspendstate;theresultisthesameasinStep5b.
NOTETellyourACEusersthattheyshouldsafelyunplugorejecttheportable
devicebeforetheydisconnectit.
NOTEIftheuserleavesthePocketACEinaSuspendstateandthenmovesthePocket
ACEtoadifferenthostcomputer,itisrecommendedthatthetwohostcomputershave
thesameCPUtype.IfthehostCPUsaredifferent,theusershouldshutdownthe
PocketACEon
thefirstmachinebeforemovingittothesecondmachine.
