VerifythattheACEinstanceisconfiguredasyouhadintendedandrunsasyou
hadplanned.

To run an end-to-end pre-deployment test on another computer
1OpentheACEmasteryouwanttotest,clickCreateNewPackagetostarttheNew
PackageWizard,andthenfollowthewizardstepstocreatethepackage.(See
detailsin“CreatingaPackage”onpage188).
2Installthepackageonyourtestsystem,andstartupsetup.exetoopenthe
InstallationWizard.Followthewizardstepstoinstallthepackage.
3StartupVMwarePlayerandthenuseittoactivateandruntheACEinstance.
VerifythattheACEinstanceisconfiguredasyouhadintendedandrunsasyou
hadplanned.
4ShutdowntheguestoperatingsystemintheACEinstance
andthenexitfrom
Player.
Post-Deployment End-to-End Test
Youcanrunanend‐to‐endtestonanupdatedpackagetoreplaceadeployedACE
packagewithoutaffectingactiveACEinstances.Previewmodecannotbeusedtotest
hostpoliciesorACEpackagesthatwillbedeployedonaLinuxhost.Instead,youmust
performend‐to‐endtesting.
FormanagedACEmasters–CreateacloneoftheACEmaster,movethecloneto
aserverthatyouhavedesignatedasatestserver,makethedesiredchangesinthe
clone,andthenpackage,install,andtestit.Afteryouhaveverifiedthatthe
changesarecorrect,duplicatethe
changesthatyoumadeontheclonetoyour
originalACEmaster.Finally,deletetheclone.See

NOTEAfteryouhavereassignedtheACEmasterbacktotheoriginalserver,youmust
createanewpackage.Thepackageyoucreatedinthetestwillrefertotheserveryou
