Chapter 8 Creating Packages and Deploying Them to Users
Ifyouplantodistributethepackagethroughnetworkdistribution,select
Networkimage.ThenclickNext.
IfyouplantodistributethepackageonCDorDVD,selectMultiplefolders
forcreatingDVDsorCDs.
Whenyouselectthemultiplefilesoption,youmustchoosethetypeofmedia
youplantouse.IfyouchooseDVDorCD,thedefaultmediasizefora
standarddiscisshown.IfyouchooseCustom,youcansetthemaximumfile
size(mustbeatleast10MB)
forthemediayouplantouse.
WhentheNewPackageWizardcreatesthepackage,itdividesthepackage
intosetsoffilessmallenoughtofitonthemediayouchooseinthisstep.
Thedefaultdisclabelprefixisshown.Youcanchangeitifyouwish.When
filesarecreatedforeachdisc,theyaresavedintofoldersnamedwiththis
prefixplusanumber,beginningwith1.Thelabelsmustincludethisprefix.
Ifyouusemultiplediscs,ensurethatthedisclabelyouenterinyourdisc
burningsoftwareforeachdiscisthesameasthenameofthefolderthewizard
createstoholdthatdisc’scontents(forexample,DISC1,DISC2).
NOTEThispagedoesnotappearforanypackagesthatarebeingdeployedonly
toLinuxhostmachines.

OTEWhentheNewPackageWizardcreatesapackage,itneedsa
substantialamountofworkingspacefortemporaryfiles.Thetotalisabout
twicethecombinedsizesofallthecomponentsofthepackage.Thewizard
displaysinformationabouttheamountofspaceneededandthelocations
wherethespaceis
needed.Ifyoudonothaveenoughfreespace,thewizard
displaysawarningmessage.Youcanmoveordeletefilesonthetargetdrives
tomakeroomforthewizard’sworkingfiles.
