ThepackagesettingsanddevicesettingsthatyoualreadysetforthisACEmasterallow
youtocreatemultiplepackagesquickly,becauseyoucanusethosesamesettingsover
andoveragain.Youdon’thavetosetthemforeachindividualpackage.
Youcandeployapackageover
anetworkoronDVDorCD.Ifyoudeploythepackage
ondiscs,thefirstdiscofthesetincludestheautorunfilesneededtostarttheinstaller
automaticallywhentheuserinsertsthediscinthehostcomputer’sdrive.
Package Validation
Packagevalidationdoesthefollowing:
ChecksthatallfilesrequiredbytheACEmasterarepresent.Thosefilesinclude:
Disk/snapshotfiles
Scriptfiles(ifanypolicyisusingscripts)
ChecksthattheACEmasteriscloneable:themasterispoweredoff,multiple
snapshotsareenabled,andthemasterisnotread‐only.
ChecksthatthelatestversionofVMwareToolsisinstalled.
Ifinstancecustomizationisenabled,checksthattheSysprepToolsdirectoryforthe
ACEmasterʹsguestoperatingsystemisnotempty.
IftheguestoperatingsystemisWindows2000,WindowsXP,orWindows2003,
checksthatthefoldersintheProgramFiles\VMware\VMware
Workstation\Resources\SysprepToolsdirectoryarenotempty.
NOTEPackagevalidationdoesnotcheckfordevicefiles(ISOimages,flpimages,
andsoon).Toincludedevicefilesinthepackage,putthefilesintheACE
ResourcesfolderfortheACEmasterandsetthedevicestopointtothatlocation.
