Chapter 7 Package Settings
Deployment Platform
IfyouwanttochangetheplatformthatyourACEpackageisdeployedto,selectthe
DeploymentPlatformsetting.ThedefaultsettingisWindows.
To change the platform to which an ACE package is deployed
1 SelecttheACEmasterwhoseDeploymentPlatformsettingyouwanttochange.
2 ChooseACE>PackageSettingstoopenthepackagesettingseditor.
3ClicktheDeploymentPlatformsettingintheleft‐handpane.
4 SelectthedeploymentplatformbychoosingWindows,Linux,orBothWindows
andLinux.
5ClickOKtosavethe
settingandclosethepage.
Setting Up a Remote Domain Join
TheremotedomainjoinfeatureallowsyoutomanageACEinstancesthatareoutside
thecorporatenetworkasiftheywereinsidethatnetwork.Theprocessofjoiningan
ACEinstancetoanActiveDirectorydomainisautomatedforbothinstancesthatare
localtothedomainandthosethatare
remotetoit.
TojoinanACEinstancetoadomain,youmustprovide:
Thedomainname
Theusernameforanaccountthatcanjoinanewcomputertothedomain
Theaccountpassword
Inadditiontothoseitems,tojoinanACEinstancefromaremotelocationtothe
domain,youmustprovideawaytoestablishasecureconnectionwithyournetwork.
Toestablishasecureconnectiontothenetwork,youmustinstallaVPNclientinthe
guestandsetitup
toallowremotelogintothedomain.Youmustsupplyascriptto
establishthesecureconnectiontotheVPNserver.
AfteryouinstalltheVPNclient,withthescriptfile,intheguest,youmustspecify
remotedomainjoinsettingsinthepackagesettingseditorinWorkstationACEEdition.
NOTEYourVPNclientmustsupportacommand‐lineinterface.
