Youmightwanttogivetheusertheabilitytoreplacethereimagesnapshot.Becausethe
reimagesnapshotistakenwhentheACEinstanceiscreated,anychangesthathave
beenmadetotheACEinstanceafterinstancecreationarelostiftheuserrevertstothat
reimagesnapshot.Ifthe
ACEinstancehasbeenupdatedandthisoptionisenabled,you
cantelltheusertoreplacethereimagesnapshotsothatitwillincludethosechanges.
Toreplacethereimagesnapshot,theuserchoosesVMwarePlayer>Troubleshoot>
TakeReimageSnapshot.
IftheuserchoosesVMwarePlayer>
Troubleshoot>ReverttoReimageSnapshot,a
warningmessageappears.Itcautionsthatallchangestothevirtualmachinewillbelost
andurgestheusertotakethisactiononlyifadvisedtodosobytheACEadministrator.
Setting Administrator Mode Policies
Youcanusetheadministratormodepolicytosetanadministrativepasswordsoyou
candoanyofthefollowing:
RuntheACEinstanceontheuser’smachineandentertheadministratormodeto
accessthevirtualmachinesettingsandmakechangestotheinstance’s
configuration(onWindowssystemsonly).Youcanonlyeditthesettings;you
cannotaddorremovedevices.
RuntheACEinstanceontheuser’smachineandentertheadministrativemodeto
accessallthesnapshotcommands,includingTakeSnapshot,TakePoweredOff
Snapshot,ReverttoSnapshot(thesefirstthreerefertotheusersnapshot),Take
ReimageSnapshot,andReverttoReimageSnapshot.See

Policies”onpage150forinformationabouttheusersnapshotandthereimage
snapshot.
Usethevmware‐acetoolcommand‐lineprogramdirectlyonanACEuser’ssystem
tofixalimitedsetofproblemsforstandaloneACEinstances.
Tousethesefeatures,selectEnableadministratormodeinthispolicy.
Toeditthevirtualmachinesettingsorusesnapshotcommandsnotavailabletotheuser
ontheACEuserʹsmachine,selectVMwarePlayer>Troubleshoot>Enter
