Setting Virtual Printer Policies
VMwareACEincludesavirtualprinterthatallowsuserstoprinttoanyprinter
availabletothehostcomputerfromapplicationsinsideavirtualmachinewithout
installingadditionaldriversinthevirtualmachine.
SelectEnablevirtualprinterforinstancestoallowuserstoprinttothevirtualprinter.
Afteryouhaveenabled
thispolicy,aserialportappearsontheHardwaretabofthe
virtualmachinesettingseditor,withthesummaryUsedbyVirtualPrinter.Youcan

OTEAspecificUSBdevicecanhavemorethanoneinterface(forexample,
adevicemightincludebothafaxfunctionandaprintfunction)andtherefore
canbelongtomorethanoneclass.Asnotedearlier,themostrestrictiveruleis
alwaysapplied.Fortheexamplejustgiven,ifone
ruleblocksafaxdevicebut
anotherruleallowsaprintdevice,thenacombinationfax/printdeviceis
blocked.
