What Does Reassigning an ACE Master to a New Server Address Do?
NotethatreassigningtheACEmastertoanewserveraddressonlycopiestherecord
fortheACEmaster.TherecordsfortheACEinstancesarenotcopied.Afterthemaster
hasbeenreassigned,allthedeployedinstancesofthemasterwillcontinuetoattempt
tocontacttheoldserver.If
theoldservercannotbecontacted,theinstanceswilluse
theircachedpolicies(ifofflinepolicyusageisenabled)untiltheircacheexpires.Ifyou
wanttochangeyourdeployedinstancestocontactthenewserver,youwillneedtodo
twothings:
1Makesurethenewservercanaccessthe
samedatabasethatyouroldserverwas
using,eitherbycopyingitifitwasanembeddeddatabaseorbyconfiguringyour
newserverthroughtheserversetupWebapplicationifitisusinganexternal
database.
