1 Controls & Connections Before the first-time setup, take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the various controls and connections.

Press the red button to exit an App. App Shortcuts Setup Disc Menu Setup: Display player main menu. Disc Menu: Display disc main menu. Select: Confirm highlighted menu option. Arrow: Navigate on-screen menu.
1 VBR333 Inserting or Replacing the Batteries 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert two AA batteries into the remote control. Make sure that the (+) and (-) symbols on the batteries match the (+) and (-) symbols inside the battery compartment. 3. Replace the battery cover. Inserting Batteries • Use only a good quality battery. • Inserting the battery incorrectly may result in cracking or leakage that may cause a fire or result in injury.
2 Installing the 3D Blu-ray Player Inspecting the Package Contents Before Connecting the Player to Your TV Before installing your new player, take a moment to inspect the package contents. Use the images below to ensure nothing is missing or damaged. Your 3D Blu-ray player is easily connected to your TV. Before you begin the installation, ensure your TV has one of the following types of video ports available: When you have completed your inspection, install the player.
2 VBR333 Connecting the Player to Your TV 3. Turn the TV on. Once you have determined the best available connection type on both your device and the TV, you can connect the player to the TV. 4. Turn the player on by pressing the Power button on the remote, or by touching the Power control on the front of the player. To connect the player to the TV: 5. 2 VBR333 Connecting the Player to Your Home Audio System Your player has two digital audio ports: coaxial and optical. It also features analog stereo ports. If your home audio system is equipped with one of these ports, you can connect it to your player so you can enjoy theater-style surround sound. 3. Turn the player on by pressing the Power button on the remote, or by touching the Power control on the front of the player. 4. Turn your home audio system on. 5.
2 VBR333 Connecting the Player to Your TV and Home Audio System with HDMI Your player can output high-definition digital audio via the HDMI port, enabling you enjoy up of 7.1 channels of surround sound using your home audio system. To view 3D while using HDMI passthrough, your home audio receiver must support 3D HDMI (See your device’s user manual). If it does not, connect the player directly to your TV using an HDMI cable, and connect the player to your receiver with an optical cable.

3 VBR333 Viewing BD-Live Content Advanced Playback Functions Your player also features advanced playback functions. Your player can access special content from discs that support BD-Live. This special content varies, but sometimes includes games, movie trailers, and director commentaries. 3 VBR333 Playing USB Photos and Audio To play USB media, you must first save your music or images onto a USB thumb drive. 3. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Media, then press SELECT. Remember: • The USB thumb drive must be formatted as FAT32. • Files on the USB thumb drive must end in a supported file extension (.mp3, .jpg, etc). • The player will not play media from external hard drives or mp3 players. 3 VBR333 USB Media Playback Controls Viewing a Photo Slide Show When listening to USB audio, you can control the playback using buttons on the remote. Photos can be viewed sequentially using the slide show feature. Previous Next To start a slide show: 1. Load all of your .jpeg or .png photos into a single folder on the USB thumb drive. 3 VBR333 Adjusting the Slide Show Settings 3. Press the Power/Standby button on the remote or touch the Power control on the front of the player to turn it on. The slide show settings can be adjusted to make your presentations more exciting. Power/ Standby To adjust the settings: 1. Highlight Settings in the Pictures file browser screen and press SELECT. 2. 4 Adjusting the Player's Settings Your player is preset to work with most setups out of the box, but if you would like to adjust any of the player’s settings, you can use the on-screen menu to do so. The Settings menu is divided into these parts: • Display • Audio • Language • BD-Live • Parental • System • Network • Info Adjusting the Display Settings From the Display menu, you can adjust the way the player displays your video. To access the Display menu: 1. Turn on the player and your TV.
4 VBR333 Adjusting the Aspect Ratio Activating Film Mode If video displayed from the player appears distorted or otherwise incorrect, you may need to adjust the aspect ratio of the player to match that of your TV. (Devices differ; see your TV’s user manual to determine its aspect ratio.) Movies are recorded on film at a rate of 24 pictures, or frames, per second. Many of the movies on Blu-ray discs are formatted at this frame rate (24 frames/second). However, not all TVs can display this format.
4 VBR333 Changing the Blu-ray 3D Mode Your player’s default 3D setting is Automatic, meaning that the player will detect 3D Blu-ray content and automatically prompt you when that content is available. If you would like to deactivate this automatic detection and always view Blu-ray 3D content in 2D, change the Blu-ray 3D mode. To change the Blu-ray 3D mode: 1. From the Display menu, use the Up/ Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Blu-ray 3D Mode and press SELECT.
4 VBR333 Adjusting the Digital Audio Output Activating or Deactivating Dynamic Range Control This setting changes the type of digital audio data the player outputs over HDMI, Optical/SPDIF, or Coaxial ports. When activated, this setting normalizes the volume of a disc’s audio track. The loudest parts of the soundtrack will be quieter, and the quietest parts will be louder. This effect can be useful when viewing movies late at night, when others might be sleeping. 1.
4 VBR333 Changing the On-Screen Menu Language Your player can display on-screen menus and play audio in English, French, or Spanish. To access the Language menu: 1. Turn on the player and your TV. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Settings and press SELECT. The Settings menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Language and press SELECT. The Language drop-down menu is displayed. Your current settings are displayed to the right of each menu option.
4 VBR333 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Auto, English, French, or Spanish and press SELECT. Selecting Auto for this setting will result in the default audio language being played. This is determined by the setting on the disc. 2. 4 VBR333 Viewing BD-Live Storage Settings When a USB thumb drive is connected to the USB port, the player can use its memory for BD-Live storage. To view the available BD-Live storage: 1. From the BD-Live menu, use the Up/ Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight BD-Live Storage and press SELECT. Setting the Parental Controls The player’s parental controls allow you to prevent the player from displaying certain rated content without a password. To access the Parental Controls menu: 1.
4 VBR333 To set the parental country: 1. From the Parental Controls menu, use the Up/Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Parental Country and press SELECT. Setting the Parental Restriction Level Use this setting to restrict the playback of discs encoded with a rating level equal to or higher than the level you choose. The Parental Controls must be set to On for this setting to work. You may be prompted to enter your Parental Code. If you have not yet set the code, enter 0000. 2.
4 VBR333 Changing the Parental Code If you use the parental controls, you should change the passcode from the default to prevent children from accessing inappropriate material. You may be prompted to enter your Parental Code. If you have not yet set the code, enter 0000. To change the parental code: 1. From the Parental Controls menu, use the Up/Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Parental Password and press SELECT. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight System and press SELECT.
4 VBR333 Setting Auto Power Down The player has a power-saving feature that turns it off after a set period of inactivity. To customize the period before auto power down: 1. From the settings menu, use the Up/ Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Auto Power Down and press SELECT. 2.

Use the Arrow and SELECT buttons to select the setting you wish to restore to the factory default: • Restore factory settings and deactivate all connected applications - Restore the player and all of its Internet Apps to their factory settings. • Restore factory settings - Restore the player to its factory settings, but retain Internet App settings. • Deactivate all connected applications - Restore all Internet Apps to their factory settings and remove all account information.
4 VBR333 Setting Up a Wireless Connection Manually Setting Up a Wireless Connection Using WPS (Button) If you have a wireless home network, including a wireless router or modem and an internet connection, you can set up the player to connect wirelessly. Many newer routers feature WiFi Protected Setup, which allows you to setup a wireless network without manually entering connection information. Follow the instructions in this section if your WPS-enabled router has a WPS button.

5 Using Internet Apps Using the Netflix App Using the VUDU App Your player has the Netflix App built-in. With it, you can stream movies, television shows, and other content from the internet to your TV. Your player has the VUDU App built-in. With it, you can stream high-definition movies and TV programs from the internet to your TV. VUDU also features popular applications like Facebook and Twitter.

Before you begin: • Ensure your player is connected to your home network and to the internet. • Ensure you have a valid VUDU account. To watch a movie or program on VUDU: 1. Turn on your player and the TV. 4. Using the Arrow and SELECT buttons, enter your e-mail address, then highlight OK.

5 VBR333 Logging Into Your Pandora Account Listening to Music Using Pandora If you already have a Pandora account, you can sign in and listen to your personalized stations. Log into Pandora. At the Station List screen, you are presented with several options for listening to music: To log into your Pandora account: • QuickMix - This option will shuffle a selection of music from your personalized stations. 1. A Troubleshooting & Technical Support Products are often returned due to a technical problem rather than due to a defect. If you are experiencing a problem when using your TV, try to fix the issue using this troubleshooting guide. I cannot connect the Player to my network. • Unplug the modem/router and the Player.
