Library HVD-to-LVD Conversion
The LLC card supports both high voltage differential (HVD) and low voltage differential
(LVD) operation.
To convert an HVD library interface to an LVD interface, you must:
• Move the position of the jumper block located at J16 on the LLC card
• Move the SCSI Y cable from J18D to J18LS on the LLC card
• Use an LVD/SE terminator, part 10148031, where required
Figure 2-1 on page 2-2 illustrates the location of the SCSI jumper block at J16 that
defines the library’s interface.
To convert the library’s SCSI interface to LVD:
CAUTION:
Possible equipment damage: To prevent possible damage to the LLC
card, it is strongly suggested that you remove the card from the machine
to perform this procedure.
1. Refer to “LLC Card” on page 1-21 and follow the procedure to remove the LLC
card.
Note: You must first remove the LLC card fan.
2. Refer to Figure 2-1 on page 2-2 for the LLC jumper locations on the LLC card.
3. Referring to Figure 2-2 on page 2-3, move the jumper at J16 from the HVD (left two
columns) to the LVD position (right two columns).
4. Move the SCSI Y cable from J18D to the J18LS location.
5. Refer to “LLC Card” on page 1-21 and follow the procedure to replace the LLC
card.
6. If a terminator is required, attach an LVD/SE terminator, part 10148031.
