Logging Tab
NOTE:
To view logged messages, choose Device Events from the View menu (Switch
window). The most recent entries appear at the top of the log. Each entry includes a
severity level, time stamp, and error message.
Through the Logging tab, you can set the lowest severity level at which messages get
logged and at which messages trip the Fault LED (found on the Switch window).

In the figure above, messages that are at the Notify severity level or higher get logged.
The Fault LED is tripped by messages at the Critical severity level or higher (Critical,
Alert, or Emergency).
Severity levels are defined as follows:
• Emergency—immediate action required; system failing
• Alert—unrecoverable condition reported; major event in progress
• Critical—event failed with possible loss of integrity
• Error—condition failed; action required
• Warning—failed event occurred; no action required
• Notify—configuration error or abnormal event occurred; no action required
• Info—event occurred; no action required
• Debug—internal message for development
• Mark—message marker
