Enable LIP
Propagation
• Send Propagated LIPs sends notification of new
devices on the selected port by propagating LIPs
(Loop Initialization Primitives) to all ports (and
their connected devices) that are designated as
“LIP Receiver.”
• Receive Propagated LIPs causes the devices on
the selected port to receive notification (through
LIP (Loop Initialization Primitive) propagation) of
recently connected devices on ports that are
designated as “LIP Trigger.”
Add “LIRP/
LILP Support”
• Disabled: No LILP or LIRP frames are sent out,
which cause initiators (such as hosts) to probe the
entire address space for discovery of private loop
devices.
• Report Active: The frame contains only the
addresses that are being used by the switch ports;
assigned addresses that aren’t being used are not
included in the frame. Initiators (such as hosts)
transmit PLOGIs only to those addresses included
in the frame.
• Report Active and Fixed: The frame contains all
addresses that were assigned to the ports, whether
or not the addresses are being used. Initiators
(such as hosts) transmit PLOGIs only to those
addresses included in the frame. Use this setting
to avoid rebooting hosts that must manually
discover targets.
