Textboxes and selections in the Ports tab are described below.

Apply Port
Name
Saves the entered port name for the selected port.
Port Type
(Protocol)
AutoDetect (default for Vixel 7100/7200):
Automatically detects the protocol used by the port.
Valid for all Switch Address Modes on Vixel 7100/
7200.
E_Port: Cascaded switch port. Valid for Fabric and
Fabric (Public/Private) Mode.
F_Port: Used for attaching another switch (switch to
switch connection) or for a direct point-to-point
connection for individual hosts or raids. Full duplex,
no arbitration, faster transfer, used for initiators.
Valid for all Switch Address Modes; device type
must be Switch_8 or Switch_16 for Stealth-2
(Fabric for Stealth).
FL_Port: Switch loop port. Valid for Fabric and
Fabric (Public/Private) Mode.
G_Port: Generic port; can act as either F_Port or
E_Port. Valid for Fabric and Fabric (Public/Private)
Mode on Vixel 7100/7200.
Stealth Loop (default for Vixel 8100): Used for
private devices. Valid for all Stealth Modes.

Switches only)
Sets the speed for the selected port at Auto Detect, 1 Gbps, or 2
Gbps.
Class of
Service
Uses the selected class of service, or set of delivery
characteristics, on the selected port. Class 2 confirms
frame delivery while Class 3 does not. The default
setting of Classes 2 and 3 is sufficient for most
applications.
