System Tab

Save Configuration to file... saves the configuration information shown in the

Configure Switch dialog box (all tabs) to a file.

Save Zone Configuration to file... saves the port-based zoning configuration

information shown in the Configure Hub dialog box (Zoning tab only) to a file. (This

option is not available for WWN-zoning switches that are in Fabric Mode or Fabric

(Public/Private) Mode.)

All device configuration files are saved to the appropriate vendor directory in*:

• (Windows)

C:\SANView\SIFileSystemRoot\deviceconf\

• (UNIX) /opt/SANView/SIFileSystemRoot/deviceconf/

*Files are located on the Softek SANView Server system. The listed locations assume

that the default installation directory for Softek SANView was accepted and that

Softek SANView’s Root Directory parameter is unchanged. (By default, Softek

SANView’s Root Directory is named “SIFileSystemRoot” and is placed inside the

accepted installation directory.)

The Help menu contains two options: Contents for online help display and About for

system and version information.

System Tab

Through the System tab, you can configure the switch name, choose the Switch

Address Mode, define the switch’s domain address or switch number, and change its

IP Address. Note that the available options and modes differ according to the switch

model number and active firmware version.
